Client request: To provide access to 7 storey building with no intermediate tie back along elevation

Builders Hoists solution

Installed 11 mast climbers where 2 machines were single mast with up to 10.3m long platform and 9 machines up to 23m long. Tie back on the ground and roof level (34 meters spacing between ties eliminate all additional obstructions along elevation)Due to the fact the face of Techrete was located 1m further out than the glass, most of the machines needed to be shifted away from elevation by 1.2m with 1m extension boards for first stage of the project. The second stage of the project, when Techerete panels where installed, all extension boards were removed and replaced with special design sliding decks.

Machine Used: Alimak HEK MSHF mast climbers.

Special Designs: Sliding decks, cantilever structure to place the machine base 3 m above the ground due to close proximity to site boundary.

Special Fabrications: Special structure for the ground for various machines.

Result

Our solution helped to coordinate the job in such a way that Techrete panels and glazing were very easy to manage. Switch work between Techrete and Alucraft. They could switch their tasks on a daily basis, while any other access solution would be prepared for either glazing or Techrete installation. In other words Alucraft didn't need to wait for Techrete to finish their job. Additionally, mast climbers for the second stage had monorail beams mounted on the top of the mast. The monorail frees up the site cranes for other tasks as the glazing was done (lifting glass) by using monorail as lifting device.
